Lake Superior Yacht Yard & Travel Lift

Lake Superior Yacht Yard has been a family owned operation since the 1940's specializing in yacht storage and care.  During the winter months, Lake Superior Yacht Yard offers convenient and safe storage for power or sail boats 28'-50'.  We charge a flat fee which covers storage, haul out, and launching. We use a 50-ton marine railway to haul our boats out on cradles which is much safer than being lifted out with a crane.  This railway is excellent for bottom repair, prop work, and cleaning.  Technical troubleshooting is also available if you having problems with your vessel no matter the size or year.  USCG captains are also available to help you learn how to operate and dock your vessel safely.

You may begin to reserve your splash time via email or by calling 228 6670
or cell contacts: Pete 906 250 6640 or Peter 906 250 6600

All owners/skippers will be asked to pay their lift charges before releasing the boat from the well.

The 35 ton travel lift is owned by Pete and Peter Frazier under the LSYY name as shown above.  It is a lift that was owned preciously by Nestegg Marine of Marinette.

We are preparing for the spring splash!  Our crew has been trying to get things in order so that we can have an easy season ahead.
The Travel List is ready to go including the mast crane.  We now have a new set of slings to better serve you.

We have had a many positive remarks about the new system. Those of you who have not used our service yet I think will enjoy a number of advantages including more flexible operating times, having a calm lift point at virtually all times, and much more controlled lifting and placing.

The rates for lifting remain as follows:  $8 per foot of overall length measured stem to stern plus fixed hardware added both bow and stern.  This charge includes the well fee that we pay to the City of Marquette.  Boats that are less than 25 feet will be charged a fixed rate to which we will need to add the charge to the City for the use of the well. The  mast lift is now installed and we plan  to use it just after the slings are in place and the boat raised a few inches to have complete control over the operation. This should be a welcome improvement over previous operations. with boats moving about. The fee will be in the $50- $90 range depending on the size of the mast and the time it takes. We expect payment at lift time for the pull and any mast work as our fees do not reflect billing and collection expenses.

Please coordinate with at least one other boat so that  we don't have to set up the lift so many times and so you will all have the necessary help to make  the lift go safely and smoothly. We will of course supply an operator. If you do not have a 'buddy' let us know and we will match you up with someone.

Some special notes:  Know where the slings are supposed to be for a safe lift and to clear bunks on trailer
Sailors have your mast ready to raise by releasing all tie downs and stops.
Sailors are reminded to have all pins, cotter pins, and tools to assemble the rigging.

We look forward to serving you. Please contact us by phone (228 6670) or email and we can schedule a tentative date which can be modified as necessary. It is helpful if you can schedule with Peggy at 228 6670 as she maintains the master calendar.  Additionally Pete and Repete are frequently operating machinery which may make it difficult to document  your scheduling requests.  If there are special considerations, please let us know at that time.

We are accumulating data sheets on all boats; if we have your information we only need to be advised of any changes (particularly cell phone #'s & emails).

We are pleased to be offering this service to the Marquette area. It is adding a new dimension to our waterfront.
It is an expensive special purpose machine and we appreciate your participation to make it work. Thank you.
